Animals Rights group cancels Puck Fair protest planned for tomorrow

Animal Rights group Aran has called off its plans to stage a demonstration against the use of a wild goat at Puck Fair tomorrow. 2013 Puck The group, which is calling on the Killorglin festival to take the live puck out of its schedule of entertainment, says they made the decision, because of a number of threats by phone and email. Spokesman for Aran, John Carmody, says they’ve received numerous calls of support from members of the public, but did not want to inflame matters by going ahead with the demonstration. Mr Carmody says one of the abusive contacts he received, was a phonecall from an inebriated caller in the USA, who threatened violence on the protestors, if they came anywhere near Puck Fair.
