Kerry County Council paid out almost €2 million in consultancy fees last year. However, the total spend (€1,898,258) accounted for only 1.5 percent of its total expenditure and 95 percent was recoupable from Government Departments and State agencies. The highest amount paid to any firm was €483,538 paid to Staveley & Partners for roads projects. Independent councillor Brendan Cronin, who requested the information, was told that figures for 2015 would be available early in 2016.
