Almost 13 million euro is to be spent on Kerry’s Regional and Local roads this year. The allocation is part of a national fund of nearly 300 million euro announced by Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe. The announcement is being welcomed by Minister Jimmy Deenihan and Senators Marie Moloney and Tom Sheahan. 12.9 million euro is being allocated to Kerry County Council for works on Regional and Local routes this year. Around 9 million will be earmarked for improvement and maintenance and over three million is described as a discretionary grant. 50,000 euro will be spent on the Dingle Inner Relief Road Phase 4. Almost 240,000 euro is to be used for bridge rehabilitation at Tulla More, Gearhameen and Listry. Nearly 280,000 euro is to be spent on safety improvement works in Listowel, Kenmare, Tralee, Milltown and Ballyduff. 80,000 euro for training is also included in the funding.
