Inspections of nursing homes need to be more rigorous according to Paul Murray of Age Action Ireland. His comments come after the Southern Health Board confirmed there’s an investigation into an alleged incident at a North Kerry nursing home recently. Most inspections that are carried out in nursing homes are for health and safety. Paul Murray says there aren’t enough surprise inspections and more needs to be done to monitor the carers.
