Accommodation crisis for Milltown Secondary school.

Milltown Secondary School claims they are facing a major accommodation crisis next September. Numbers at the school have grown by one third in the last four years and repeated requests for additional buildings have not got the go ahead. Staff say they are already operating in cramped conditions and student numbers will increase substantially in September.The Department of Education has turned down a request for three prefabs at the school. According to Deputy Breda Moynihan Cronin the school has relied heavily on fundraising to date and at the moment is paying hundreds of euro a week renting prefabs. She`s calling on the Minister for Education to stop delaying on an extension at the school.
