Established in 2005, Radio Kerry Training is located in the Radio Kerry Broadcast HQ in Tralee town centre. It is a custom built training facility and all areas are air conditioned and equipped with top level training, audio recording and post production facilities.

Radio Kerry Training is managed by John Herlihy, who is the lead tutor on the City and Guilds Diploma in Radio Studio Production which is delivered in partnership with Kerry ETB. An award winning radio producer with 15+ years industry experience, John also delivers training for Learning Waves and is a part time lecturer at Institute of Technology Tralee. Our associate trainers include BBC producer Shane O’Connor and journalist/producer Audrey Galvin and each course features guest speakers from the radio sector and wider media industry.
Radio Kerry Training students have gone on to work at the BBC, RTE and the Independent Local Radio sector.
In recent years, students on the Diploma in Radio Production course have won 4 PPI National Radio Awards (2 Gold, 2 Bronze) for radio productions developed, recorded and aired while training at Radio Kerry Training. Our former students now working in the media industry have gone on to win many national radio awards.
