New statistics show that 85 per cent of planning applications in the county were granted during the last three months. Since the beginning of November, the planning office has handled over eleven hundred cases. Of these, nearly 800 have been processed and 15 per cent rejected.The figures have been released by the planners in Kerry County Council as the number of section 140 motions continue to rise. An average of 20 motions has come before the last two monthly meetings. The farming organisations and the Irish Rural Dwellers Organisation are considering a court challenge to the County Development Plan.
