There’s a 76% uptake of BreastCheck in Kerry.
BreastCheck is a Government-funded programme that provides free mammograms to eligible women every two years.
It’s being extended and by the end of 2021, all eligible women aged between 50 to 69 will be invited for routine screening.
According to figures from BreastCheck, nationally the average uptake during 2015 and 2016 was 77%.
The highest uptake was in Kilkenny at 91%, while the lowest at 73% was in Dublin; in Kerry, the uptake was 76%.
