A major clean-up operation is underway after Storm Desmond battered the country. Five weather warnings have been lifted however many parts of the country are severly flooded. The storm wreaked havoc dumping in the region of 100 millimetres of rain along the south, west and northwest of the country. As a result many roads are affected and a clean-up operation is still ongoing. Some roads across the county are still closed this evening as a result of the flooding. Elsewhere today Irish Ferries cancelled two services but the Tarbert Ferry is running as normal. While Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Kerry Airports are fully operational.
