59 children were killed or seriously injured on Kerry roads over a 15 year period. The Road Safety Authority has prepared a Child Casualties Report based on information from An Garda Siochana. It shows that between 1997 and 2012 eight children were killed and 51 were seriously injured on Kerry roads. The majority 31 were passengers in cars, 19 were pedestrians, eight were cyclists and one was another type of road user. The highest number of child fatalities happened in Dublin followed by Cork and Galway. Nationally 262 children died on the roads over the period.
