414 admissions to UHK acute mental health unit last year

There were 414 admissions to the Sliabh Mish Acute Mental Health Admission Unit at University Hospital Kerry last year.
The figures, released by the HSE, track admissions to the unit up until December 14th, 2016.
147 were first admissions while 267 were re-admissions; 224 were male and 190 were female.
HSE data to the end of October 2016 indicated one thousand two hundred and ten (1,210) individuals were referred to, and accepted by, Kerry Community Mental Health Services.
