400 children enter Kerry Women’s Refuge in 2004

Manager of the Kerry Women’s Refuge says there needs to be more communication between all the agencies that deal with domestic violence in order to improve the current system. In 2004 just under 400 children entered the Kerry Women’s Refuge. Anne Marie Foley says the increase in recent years is due to the enhanced awareness of the support systems available. She says current domestic violence legislation is excellent but agencies need to work together to improve the system.
