7 of the 10 tenants who were issued with notices to quit by Tralee Town Council for rent arrears are no longer to go to court. Up to 80,000 euro has been collected since the appointment of an Arrears Manager last year. Of the 10 served 3 have paid their arrears in full a further four have partially cleared their debt.However the remaining three are to go to court for what the council describes as a substantial amount of arrears. A further 10 accounts are being monitored. Administrative Officer Kathleen Moriarty said the problem of rent arrears by tenants is an ongoing one.
