A 27-year old woman has been found not guilty of stealing 51,000 pounds from a pub in castlemaine five years ago. Margaret Doherty from Kilbarry in County Waterford had denied taking the money from Jeremiah Griffin’s bar on august 22nd, 1999. Following a 12-day trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, the jury took almost five hours to reach its verdict after spending one night in a hotel. Judge Michael White discharged Mrs Doherty from the court.
