Met Eireann has issued a 24-hour rainfall warning for Kerry. The yellow alert which started at 9am also affects Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, Carlow, Wexford and Kilkenny. Up to 35 millimetres of rain are expected to fall – turning heaviest on high ground. The flood at Bog Road, Ballyheigue is cleared and the road is open. The approach to Ross Castle in Killarney remains flooded as is the bridge at the Mall, Rockfield, Faha. The Taoiseach will meet with Ministers today to discuss the impact of storm Frank – there will also be a briefing from the Government’s flood taskforce.
