Nationally, the number of people declared bankrupt is lower than the last quarter or equivalent quarter last year. The Insolvency Service of Ireland report continued growth in new applications, protective certificates and approved arrangements in the first quarter–following on from the introduction of a one-year bankruptcy term from the 29th of January. Meanwhile, there were 479 bankruptcy adjudications last year in Ireland, up 31 from the previous year.
