A protest is to be held by members of the Irish Rod Anglers Association at tonight`s meeting of the Southwest Regional Fisheries Board. It`s expected up to 200 anglers are to protest at the introduction of a monofilament net which anglers say will wipe out already dwindling salmon stocks.Wild salmon are already in serious decline according to Jerome Dowling, Secretary of the Irish Salmon and Sea Trout Anglers. If this monofilament net is introduced for Cork Harbour Mr. Dowling believes the results will have disastrous effects for Kerry. He says the Anglers Federation no longer has any faith in the South West Regional Fisheries Board or its Chief Executive Aidan Barry.
