Good Friday 1916 events are taking place throughout the county. A wall of remembrance to commemorate the first causalities of the Rising will be unveiled in Killorglin this afternoon. The Wall of Remembrance project, co-ordinated by Killorglin Centenary Committee, includes four bronze busts of patriots Con Keating, Donal Skeehan and Charles Monaghan. The unveiling takes place at 4.30pm. An exhibition of photographs on Roger Casement and the 1916 Rising, researched by Professor John Bentley was also unveiled today. Meanwhile in Banna, a walk to the Roger Casement Memorial and on the McKenna Fort is currently underway. Tonight, a concert and drama centred on 1916 will be staged in Killorglin’s CYMS Hall from 8pm.
