Tom Crean Signage Among those who attended the dinner on board the ship in the Antarctic was west Kerry native, Tom Crean. Tonight’s meal is being hosted by the Royal St George Yacht Club in Dún Laoghaire and among the guests will be Tom Crean’s grandson, Brendan O’Brien, who’s originally from Tralee. Brendan says a lot of effort is going into recreating the meal which was enjoyed by the 28 men on board – it included mock turtle soup and deviled whitebait.
