1,500 Homes in Killarney Without Electricity

UP TO 1, 500 HOMES IN KILLARNEY WERE WITHOUT ELECTRICITY FOR A TIME TODAY AFTER TWO TREES FELL ON A POWER LINE.WORK IS CONTINUING ON THE FAULT AND POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED TO A NUMBER OF HOMES ALREADY.A SPOKESPERSON FOR THE ESB SAYS SOME HOMES AND BUSINESSES MAY HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL LATER IN THE AFTERNOON.THE FAULT TOOK PLACE ON THE ST FINNIANS FEEDER AT AROUND 10 OCLOCK THIS MORNING.THE FEEDER SERVICES THE AREA AROUND FITZGERALD STADIUM AND BUSINESSES ALONG PARTS OF MAIN STREET.AN ESB CREW SPENT AROUND AN HOUR LOCATING THE FAULT AND WORK IS ONGOING.
