The main Killarney Cork Road N22 is closed at Garish bridge, Glenflesk. Diversion signage is being placed at Lissivigeen diverting traffic via Rathmore or Millstreet to Cork as the Glenflesk road is impassable. All traffic between Kerry and Cork need to follow these alternative routes. There’s severe flash flooding on the R569 Kenmare and Kilgarvan road especially at Loo Bridge – motorists are asked to avoid the area. Molls Gap is flooded and is now closed. Severe flooding is being reported in Kenmare. Kerry County Council says there’s flooding on the N86 at Annagh and Kennedys road while in Tralee, the road near the rugby club at Ballyard is also flooded There’s a detour sign at Quills Cross to warn traffic from Castlemaine, that the road is flooded. There is a lot of surface water on the road from Tarbert to Limerick, on the Tralee bypass and from Tralee to Fenit. Management at Killarney National Park are advising you to avoid the park today because of the severe weather conditions. Meanwhile the Rentokil Initial Killarney Historic Rally has now been officially called off. Its understood that routes that were to be used are now needed by Gardai because of numerous traffic diversions.
