There are 121 people on waiting lists for inpatient and day cases at University Hospital Kerry. That’s according to figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund, as of the end of March. Kerry has one of the shorter waiting lists among hospitals across the country. Over 490,000 patients are awaiting treatment or assessment in public hospitals across the country. University Hospital Kerry has one the lowest numbers of people on waiting lists, according to the National Treatment Purchase Fund. There are 121 patients waiting for inpatient and day cases at the Tralee hospital; all bar one are waiting less than a year. The majority, 101, are on the list for up to three months; 15 are waiting between three and six months, and four people between six and nine months. At other hospitals serving the Kerry region, there are 2,877 patients waiting for inpatient and day cases at University Hospital Limerick, while there are 1,777 on the list at Cork University Hospital.
