120km gusts expected as Storm Fionn hits Kerry

A status orange wind warning has been issued for Kerry.

Storm Fionn will bring very strong westerly winds with gusts of up to 120km per hour this afternoon until early tomorrow morning.

The warning is also in effect for Cork, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal, with winds strongest along the coast.

Met Éireann has also issued a weather advisory for very high seas affecting the western seaboard over the next few days leading to an increased risk of coastal flooding.
