Nurture CharityUp to a dozen women per week in Kerry, are receiving specialist counselling for Post Natal Depression. That’s according to Nurture, a charity set up five years ago to specifically help women going through difficulties with PND and other pregnancy and childbirth-related issues. The organisation currently has a full-time counsellor in Kerry, and plans to launch further support services for the county at an event in Tralee in May. Nurture’s CEO Irene Lowry believes that the number of women being counselled in Kerry at the moment, is just ‘the tip of the iceberg’, and she’s hoping more will come forward. She says that while there is help available within the HSE system, it’s obvious that a faster service was needed for many women: [audio_player src=”http://media.radiokerry.ie/mediamanager/embed/audio/54666/medium/”]
